Tell me about making a full-size collection download purchase.
Answer: When you purchase full-size collection(s) as a download, I will email you the download link after I receive your payment from PayPal. You will have 2 days in which to download the collection(s). After I see that you have downloaded the file, it will be deleted, so if you have any problems with your first download, let me know as soon as possible so that I won't delete the file! Also, make sure you have a FAST INTERNET CONNECTION! If you have dial-up, it could take hours to download these large zip files (some are 40MB)!
When you choose to download the file, a window will pop up asking you where to SAVE the file - make sure you pay attention to where you are saving the file on your hard drive so that you can find the zip file later!
How long will it take for me to hear from you after an order?
Answer: After you place an order through PayPal and I have received an email from them, I will contact you as soon as possible. Usually the same day unless you place your order late at night. Please take into consideration the time difference if you are not located in the U.S. Also, please make sure to add my email address to your email program's address book, or list of acceptable email addresses so that my email will not be directed to your SPAM, DELETE, or BULK mail folder! Remember - I only have the email address you used when you created your PayPal account, so if you are using a different email address as you MAIN account, you will need to let me know. This is especially important when ordering mini-collections since they are uploaded through email!Tell me about a mini-collection purchase.
Answer: When you purchase mini-collections through PayPal (or you can send a check), I will UPLOAD the mini-collection to you in a ZIP file. The upload will take place the day you make your purchase.I can't gain access to or open the zip file attachment.
Answer: Check your email client's security settings - some settings won't allow you to open zip files from within email. Either change the settings or SAVE the zip file to a folder on your hard drive....then open WinZip and browse to the zip file, choose it and extract the files to a folder.
If you have Outlook Express, do this: go to Tools/Options/Security and uncheck the following: "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus." Click on Apply. Now, when you open the email with the zip file attachment, it will be available in the Attach Line at the top of the email.
ALSO - if you have an evaluation copy of WinZip and the trial period has run out, you won't be able to open the zip file - either register your copy or download the new evaluation version if you have an old evaluation version. You can also Google to see if there are any free unzip programs that you can use.
Is your CD a program that I install? Answer: No, these are graphics. You need a desktop publishing program, such as Print Artist, Picture Publisher, Printmaster, Hallmark, Create-a-Card, Corel Draw, etc. Any program which opens graphics will work. You can even use word processing programs since they allow use of JPG graphics. Although I do suggest using a desktop publishing program for ease of use. Is each collection on a separate CD? Answer: No, when you purchase multiple collections, they all come on one CD - as does the specially priced Complete Tantalizing Collection which includes all the full collections. Do you have any teabag folding design instructions?
Answer: Yes - please check my homepage for instructions. You will also find instructions for making a card for the Beginner AND a Envelope Glue Recipe. The CD can't be read from my CD-ROM, is something wrong with the CD? Answer: I check each CD after it is created to make sure it works - then it goes right into a CD holder - there will be no scratches or no reason it shouldn't work in your CD-ROM. If it doesn't work, is ejected from your cdrom, you receive error messages, or have problems accessing some files or directories, you may have a CD-ROM drive that is not well calibrated. Try reading the CD in a different CD-ROM drive - if it works in another drive, then something is wrong with your drive. Also, CD-ROM drives need to be cleaned on a regular basis - a dirty drive can cause problems in reading CDs. You can buy cleaning CDs at any computer store. How do I view your graphics? Answer: Many desktop publishing programs have a way to view graphics - you need to look in the Help menu of your program to learn how it views graphics. My favorite way to view graphics is through a program called Thumbs Plus which is a program especially for viewing graphics and printing catalogs of your graphics. Printing a catalog of your tiles is especially helpful when trying to find the perfect one to use in your project. You can find a link to the Thumbs Plus website on my LINKS page. Also, you can view the graphics through Windows Explorer. In WinXP, right-click a graphic in Windows Explorer and choose Preview. How do I open the graphics? Answer: Most desktop publishing programs open graphics differently. Some will have an "art gallery" which allows you to find the graphic you want to use and then open it, other programs let you choose "Open" and then browse to where the graphic is located - either on your hard drive or your Cd-Rom drive, still other programs have you choose to "import" graphics. You really need to look in the Help section of your program to learn how the program you are using opens graphics. What kind of paper do you print your tiles for teabag folding on? Answer: I use regular inkjet paper. I like to try and find the whitest paper I can because the colors will print more vivid the whiter the paper. All papers will show a brightness number on the package - for instance, from 86 to 98. Try and find the highest number you can without paying alot more in price. How can I get rid of the white background around graphics? Answer: For use with Create-a-Card, PrintShop, and Print Master programs, try this: go into MS Word and insert the graphic into a new document. Click on the picture to select it and then right click and pick Edit Picture. Then right click again and choose Show Picture Toolbar. There on the toolbar is a button that says Set Transparent Color - click it then click onto the background, right click to Copy and then Paste the graphic with transparent background into one of the programs listed above.
Another option: if you have MS Powerpoint, you can select your graphic and get a toolbar which will have an option to make the background transparent.
What kind of card stock do you like to print the card fronts on? Answer: For greeting cards, a good 60 lb or 80 lb linen card stock is nice. I like to use Neenah's "Classic Crest, Super Smooth, Solar White or Avalanche White" card stock. It is so white that the card fronts print very vividly - and I love the silky smooth finish and feel of the card stock. Visit my LINKS page for Neenah's url or, if you are lucky, you can find it locally. What should my print settings be for the best printing result? Answer: You should click on your printer's "preferences" or "properties" button and then choose a setting for a higher quality of printing according to the paper you are using. For instance, I have a Canon printer - I can choose from "fast, standard, high, or even a custom setting". I choose the HIGH setting which is the best setting for printing tiles and greeting card fronts. Some other printers might go by the number of "dpi". The Epson I used to have did that - I always chose a 720dpi. (I would have chosen higher for photos)
The best thing to do is to print and compare! Print one at your printer's regular settings and then print one at a higher setting or dpi - which looks best? Seeing is always believing when it comes to printing. I usually print the tiles at the same setting as my card fronts - sometimes you can get away with a lower setting for the tiles since the same printout quality is not needed because the tiles will be folded.
How do you create a page full of tiles for teabag folding? Answer: Here is the procedure I use: I open the tile I want to use on my workspace, size it to the size I want, then I highlight the tile and duplicate it (find the "duplicate" command for your program), then I highlight those 2 tiles and duplicate them - then I highlight those 4 tiles and duplicate them....that gives me 8 tiles. Many programs will have a "snap to grid" option which helps you to align the tiles perfectly even so cutting will be easier. If you want a full page of tiles, then just keep duplicating and lining them up as close as desired until the page is full. How do I size the tiles or card fronts? Answer: After opening the tile or card front on your workspace, highlight it with your mouse and then move your mouse over the corners of the graphic where a "sizing arrow" should show up - use this arrow to make the graphic bigger or smaller. Make sure to maintain the "size aspect ratio" of the tile or card front which means make sure you don't stretch them by making one side longer or wider than they were designed to be. Doing this will distort the original image size. Most programs will allow you to maintain the correct size (aspect ratio) by using the RIGHT mouse button when making your graphic bigger or smaller. Also, I do not recommend sizing tiles bigger than 2". The tiles are meant to either be used for teabag folding where the squares are normally 1.5" to 2" in size OR the tiles are meant to be used as FILLS where they are tiled seamlessly (in programs such as Paint Shop Pro.) Click Here for pictures showing how to size your graphic. Do you take credit cards? Answer: I do take credit cards but only through PayPal. You can either use PayPal (they are very secure...I have used them for years) or you can send me a check or money order - email me for my address. International Orders (anyone outside the U.S. can send a bank check if they write U.S. Funds under the amount or they can also use PayPal!). How long will it take for me to receive my mail order?
Answer: After payment is received, your order will be mailed in 1-2 days...usually in 1 day. I will email you with confirmation of your payment and tell you when your order will be mailed. U.S. orders are sent priority mail and should be received in 2-3 days. International orders are sent First Class Mail International and should be received within 7 days. If you ever make payment and do not hear from me - then I am having computer problems (which hasn't happened to me yet - knock on wood <g>). Rest assured that I will contact you as soon as I possibly can! What is your refund policy? Answer: Since the collections at my website are downloadable files, no refunds will be given on completed purchases. No refunds will be given on the collection CD's once they have been shipped. If you are experiencing a problem, please contact me and I will do everything I can to help!
